A major component of work these days is the capacity to work collaboratively with others. In a world that is characterized as volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous, the ability to stay present, communicate clearly, and collaborate quickly and effectively is at a premium.
In organizations, this shows up as the ability to lead and or participate actively in teams or the ability to design and lead productive multi-stakeholder “off site” meetings.
Team is the “convenient name” we give to all forms of collaboration. Teams form the fabric of our organization life, be they product or project teams, department teams, quality or lean teams, learning teams, virtual teams, cross functional teams or some combination of them all.
Betsy began her own learning experience with teams during the quality revolution in the 1980s. In her role as Director of Learning and Development she taught courses for team members, team leaders, and team facilitators. She personally experienced the power of being part of a high performing manufacturing team that successfully implemented Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) and Just In Time (JIT) systems. Betsy furthered her understanding of teams by learning to facilitate outdoor, adventure learning teams. More recently she has coached more than 15 learning teams.
Betsy is passionate about helping organizations unleash the power of effective teamwork. She
believes that under the right conditions it can be fun, rewarding and highly productive.
