Betsy is the founder of Cole Coaching and Consulting, a business coaching and consulting firm that helps clients develop their strategic leadership presence and expand their understanding of work to include the significant role that building and maintaining relationships plays in their ability to achieve results. Prior to starting her firm, Betsy had over 25 years of progressive leadership experience working internally in healthcare and biotech. She created a management and leadership development function, and worked globally to develop leaders at all levels of the corporation.
Betsy is intellectually astute. Her style is direct, compassionate, and results oriented. She works with leaders in an elegant way to embed their new insights, build competence and achieve results by engaging in new practices and in taking new actions. She is known for her sense of humor and her practical and down to earth approach. Betsy approaches her coaching work from both an Integral and Somatic perspective. She has provided coaching to executives at many Fortune 500 healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, and technology, corporations.
Betsy earned a B.A. in Sociology from Wellesley College, an M.S. in Education from the University of Miami and a Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems from the Fielding Graduate University. Betsy has professional coaching certifications in both Integral and Somatic coaching. She is also certified in the use of many assessment tools including the Birkman Method, Benchmarks 360, the Hay Emotional Competency Inventory, Career Leader and Leadership Agility.
In her community, Betsy serves as a Past-President and current Board Member of the Life Planning Network, (www.lifeplanningnetwork.org ) a not for profit professional organization dedicated to developing professionals who help people navigate the 2nd half of life. Betsy is also a member of the Human Resources Leadership Forum, and the International Coaching Federation. She has served as co-chair of the Professional Development Committee for the New England HR Association (NEHRA) and has taught Performance Management in the Bentley College HR certificate program.
Betsy loves travel and adventure learning. She spent last January on a walking safari in Tanzania with Richard Leider and 11 other intrepid adventurers. She enjoys her regular yoga practice, and tennis matches. Her hobbies include a love of sailing and yacht racing as well as choral singing and bridge. She lives in Waltham, MA with her miniature poodle, Charlie.
